Clients are improving in our care
Centerpoint Health receives incentive payments
for the progress clients have made toward recovery

The Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board recently issued incentive payments to its contract agencies based on the progress clients have made toward recovery, as measured by the Board’s Consumer Outcomes Report. Centerpoint Health received $109,141, the largest amount received by any agency in Hamilton County.

The Consumer Outcomes Report evaluates the effectiveness of its mental health programs. Centerpoint Health, along with other county mental health agencies, surveys each client at least twice a year.

Of the agency’s clients served during October 2007– September 2009, 72 percent of adults showed an improvement in quality of life and/or decreases in symptom distress; and 72 percent of children showed an improvement in problem severity and/or functioning.

Client satisfaction with Centerpoint Health’s services was highest in the county, scoring an average of 3.56 on a 4.0 scale for adults and an average of 4.8 on a 6.0 scale for parents of children served.

During fiscal year 2009, the agency doubled the number of indicators tracked for internal continuous quality improvement. These new indicators, combined with the Consumer Outcomes Report, have allowed Centerpoint Health to better monitor the effectiveness of services provided.

“The (Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services) Board feels it is critical to recognize agencies and their staff for the life-changing efforts provided in assisting those individuals receiving services through our system of care and to further-promote those efforts to ensure that agencies utilize the most efficacious practices available today,” said Patrick Tribbe, the board’s CEO and president.
