Middletown, Ohio | December 16, 2025... Centerpoint Health has appointed Shonda Wallace as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1st, 2026, selecting a seasoned healthcare leader with over 20 years of experience to guide the organization into its next chapter. 

 

Wallace brings extensive expertise in financial management, strategic leadership, and expanding access to high-quality care, including 15 years within the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) sector. “I am deeply honored by the trust placed in me by the Board of Directors. Centerpoint Health’s mission is one I believe in wholeheartedly, and I am committed to leading the organization with integrity and focus as we continue building a strong and sustainable future for the patients we serve,” Wallace said.

 

Wallace has served as Centerpoint Health’s Chief Financial Officer, where she strengthened financial operations and supported mission-driven initiatives that expanded access to care. She holds an MBA from Franklin University and is recognized for her strategic insight, collaborative leadership style, and dedication to underserved communities. 

 

Her appointment follows a year of steady leadership from Kent Youngman, Interim CEO, whose guidance ensured organizational stability during the transition. Reflecting on the change, Youngman stated, “It has been a privilege to serve Centerpoint Health this past year. I have great confidence in Shonda’s leadership and in her deep understanding of both the operational and mission-driven aspects of this work. She is exceptionally well-prepared to guide the organization forward.”

 

Lauren Bartoszek, Chair of the Board of Directors, expressed the Board’s full confidence in Wallace, emphasizing that after careful evaluation, she was unanimously selected to lead the organization. Bartoszek said, “Shonda’s strategic vision, commitment to excellence, and extensive experience within the FQHC model make her the right leader to advance the organization’s mission and strengthen its impact in the community.”

 

Under Wallace’s leadership, Centerpoint Health will focus on expanding community partnerships, enhancing patient-centered care, and continuing its longstanding dedication to serving medically underserved, unserved, and uninsured populations.
